Insights Into Peter... South African born and raised, Peter has had music coursing through his veins since the tender age of three. His first paying gig was on drums at the age of five, and has been earning a living with music ever since. He has played in innumerable bands and as a multi-instrumentalist is always in demand. He considers himself primarily a guitarist and bassist, but has also earned a living playing trumpet, English horn etc. , keyboards, drums.
Admired by musicians and music lovers alike... He won many talent shows as a child on guitar, organ and drums. In 1981 he enlisted in the the military band where he played for eight years. Here he taught many instruments on a voluntary basis including drums, guitar and bass. He was then recruited by the SA Police to join their entertainment unit, where he recorded with top South African artists on bass guitar, guitar, drums, keyboards and backing vocals. He collaborated with a friend and formed the band “Much 2 Much”, where they entertained sold out crowds.
Pete’s motto, It’s never too early or too late to start... In 1998, after reaching the pinnacle of his local career, Peter moved to Chicago to further his dreams. He joined “The Legends” band in 1998 where he plays bass and performs vocals. He also performs as a one man band at restaurants, pubs, weddings and private functions. He recently joined the upcoming band the “The August” as their bass guitarist and performs harmony vocals. His lifelong dream of owning his own recording studio has come to fruition and his dream to teach and record can finally be achieved.
